In the performance, I use a 31-meter-long red cloth, as if it were an umbilical cord emerging from the water, connecting the rocks and myself to the place, in an attempt to create an affective geometry.
In this performance, I position myself in the space, dressed in red, with the intention of becoming, with my body, one of the two endpoints of a geometric line in dialogue with the waterfall.
When the fabric finds the courage to approach the waterfall and merge with it, the power of the union translates into a symbiosis where the fabric is penetrated by the water, which, in turn, by insinuating itself between the holes, knots, and threads, irreparably alters the balance.
The performance Geometría Fluida develops the theme of the line and unfolds in two phases. In the first phase, the red fabric, tied at two ends (to the rock on one side and to my body on the other), creates a horizontal geometric line that engages in dialogue with the verticality of the waterfall. Subsequently, I reach the top of the waterfall and unroll the red fabric into the water, allowing it to slide along the entire length of the cascade. The fabric then ends up in the river’s waters and begins to travel along the course of the river until, a few days after the performance, it is recovered downstream.
In this performance, I become both point and line, red within the red, pulling the threads of my existence, of the mountain and the water, and finally, I detach them from myself, from my body. I let them fall into the waterfall, letting them go toward their destiny, and my soul feels light.
